VS, Mind, Hustler Club opens next week?
Oct 23, 2009 - 12:02 PM - by Rocky
Is it true the Hustler Club opens next week?

If it is maybe Mind and I can treat VS to a night out, the food is suppose to be excellent, the Chef has been in my store and said it is going to be a top notch steak house. Mind can come with us to make sure we get home safe, and he can help me explain to VS what he is seeing.

hustler club and faith christian church
Oct 23, 2009 - 8:45 AM - by underthesun
Lincoln Park --Larry Flynt's Hustler's Club is expected to open on Devil's Night, Oct. 30, with dueling lights blazing.
The Hustler Club's blue and purple lights will be shining on one side of West Outer Drive while Hollywood-style beams will be radiating across the street at Faith Christian Assembly.
"We'll have our own light show with a concert outdoors. ... We want our good work to outshine the bad work," said Rev. Frank Julian.

NewWal Mart to open, but not in Lincoln Park
Oct 18, 2009 - 4:23 PM - by DonDiego
I hope the anti-Wal Mart people are proud of themselves. A new Wal Mart will be opening soon, but not in LP. This one will be in Southgate at the old Best Buy building.

Meanwhile the property at Sears Shopping Center is empty and vacant.

Where these guys showing up at the Southgate Council Meetings week after week?

BTW: Kudrak kept whining about the Wal Mart building sitting vacant once they left LP. What will be do with the Hustler Club building if it ever leaves LP? With the lack of fire walls and proper exits, a new tenant will not be allowed to move in. Not without the advantage of an... [Read More]

1927 Lincoln Park Police Tidbits
Oct 08, 2009 - 7:29 PM - by Leslie
Found this in the August 4, 1927 Lincoln Park News. Thought you'd get a giggle out of it.

Wonder if there's anything the Lincoln Park Police can't do. Some housewife complained about a gas leak to the "cops." Policemen can paint houses and fences and things like that, too. They repair automobiles, motorcycles, bicycles, wheel barrows and what have you. Oh, yes, about the only thing they don't do - or can't, probably - is cook. They let the firemen do that.

Federal Lawsuit Filed against Mayor Frank Vaslo includes alleges using "Tony" on a website to libel, harrass, intimidate, etc. opposers
Sep 29, 2009 - 6:46 PM - by Robin
Finally ---- a federal lawsuit filed that includes Mayor Frank E. Vaslo as allegedly using a pseudonym of "Tony" on the sleaze site to harrass, libel, stalk, etc. people.

This lawsuit isn't only about the above, but it sure is refreshing to finally see this so called professional Mayor having to answer for his actions.

When was the last time you were at the farmers market?
Sep 27, 2009 - 10:32 AM - by Leslie
When was the last time you were at the farmers market? Our farmers often tell me "geez, haven't seen fill in the blank in a long time." Haven't seen Robin, Mike, Mayday, Resident Jeff, Bicycledon, Mary at the markets in a long time! Maggie and Sam ask about Mary all the time! Norris asks about Bicycledon! Mindtvr, where have you been?

This is the best time of year to frequent the farmers market. The weather is not too hot, not too cold. There is still summer produce such as tomatoes and corn yet the fall produce is starting to come in. Fleig Farms has mums! We will be doing a Kids Day on Sunday,... [Read More]
