The problem isn't asking for identification - it's the fact that immigrants are required to have their alien registration paperwork with them at all times, and the government of Arizona is trying to enforce a federal issue by controlling immigration. If I am pulled over or I commit a crime, I expect them to look at my license. But in the case here, what do they do when they find an illegal? Do they report this person to the government? This time last month I was living with three roommates, but 3 weeks ago my girlfriend dumped me and last week my other roommates moved out.
